Citizen Police Academy
The Fair Lawn Police Department is proud to present the 9th
Citizen’s Police Academy. This course provides insight to the public on
the operations of the Fair Lawn Police Department. It will be a 15 week
hands on program, meeting on Tuesday nights beginning
October 20th from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. Instructors will be officers from
various agencies and units within the department. This is not a police
officer candidate school. It is only to allow citizens of Fair Lawn to
experience first hand our methodology and techniques. Class size will be
limited to 45 people so we ask that only those who are truly interested
and plan to attend all classes apply (80% attendance suggested).
A BACKGROUND CHECK WILL BE
CONDUCTED ON ALL APPLICANTS. ALSO NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN OPEN FORUM TO
DISCUSS PREVIOUS LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTACTS OR GRIEVANCES, THIS IS DONE IN
FAIRNESS TO THE OTHER STUDENTS REGARDING TIME LIMITATIONS. ACCESS MAY BE
DENIED TO THOSE WITH A CRIMINAL ARREST RECORD.
