Citizens Police Academy

     The academy is an interactive and hands on educational program with citizens and the Fair Lawn Police Department. Participants will be instructed in a variety of weekly classes that include:  

We also take field trips to the Bergen County Jail, the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fair Lawn Municipal Court. Class limit 45.

     The course is open and free of charge to all Fair Lawn residents that do not have a criminal record and are 18 and over. In addition attendees are expected to be able to attend at least 80% of the sessions.  Space is limited to the first 45 applicants.  

     The Citizen’s Police Academy is not intended to be a police officer candidate school.  It is simply a way for our residents to obtain a better understanding of how their local police department operates. Come join us! It will be a fun and educational experience. Applications may be obtained at Fair Lawn Police Headquarters or by calling P.O.
