Citizen’s Police Academy Class #5!
The
Fair Lawn Police Department, Community Policing Unit is now
recruiting for our 5th annual Junior Citizen’s Police
Academy. Maybe you can become one of us!! Meet and get to know
some of Fair Lawn's finest!!
The Academy is made possible through a grant from the
Fair Lawn Alliance for Substance Abuse
Prevention which
receives it’s funding through the Governor’s Council on
Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. The purpose of the Junior Citizen’s
Police Academy is to better acquaint young people with the
workings of their local police department as well as other
emergency services and to break down barriers between the police
and young people.
The Junior
Citizen’s Police Academy will take place at
Memorial Middle School from July 16, 2007 until July 20,
2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The
one week Police Academy will include:
Physical training - Squad
formations, pushups, exercise competitions
Fair Lawn
Fire, Rescue & Ambulance Demonstrations
Bergen
County K-9 Operations
Obstacle
Courses
Field Trips-
Bergen County Crime Lab, Bergen County Police & Fire Academy,
Juvenile Court, Traffic Court, Tour of F.L.P.D.
Graduation-Pizza Party on Friday July 20th at
Municipal Hall
Applications are available at the Fair Lawn Police
Department.
The deadline for submitting applications is July 10,
2007.
