Fair Lawn Police Department

"Anniversary Edition 2006" Cop Cards

What are "Cop Cards"???  For years, baseball players have had their photos on trading cards.....now it's our turn!!!!!!

With the success of the first two editions of the Fair Lawn Police Department’s Cop Cards, the department has just released the third and updated "cop card" set. This set is the "Anniversary Edition", celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Fair Lawn Police Department and is made up of 60 cards, including 48 individual officer cards, 5 police dispatcher cards, a "Father and Son" card, and cards for our Support Staff, Rookies, RDF, police patches, and police car.   The patch cards have a check-off list on the back so you can keep track of which cards you have and which cards you still need.  On the back of each officer's card there is information about the featured officer and a personal message.

How can you get the cards????   All you have to do is to go up to a police officer, introduce yourself, and ask for a cop card.  It's that simple.  Remember, not all of Fair Lawn's police officers participate in the program, but it never hurts to introduce yourself and ask.  We are hoping that the cards will help make police officers more approachable and to help open up the lines of communication between the police department and the community, especially with the Borough's children.

This project was made possible by the Fair Lawn Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention through a grant from the Governor's Council

The professional photography for the cards was done by photographer Ira Gluck of Paris Photography (Glen Rock, NJ).  Ira's work really added a professional look to the cards.

And, of course, we must thank our card printers, "Cop Card Connection" (River Vale, NJ) whose creativeness turned a rough idea into a magnificent reality.

Important!

Remember not to talk with police officers while they are writing tickets, appear to be conducting an investigation, or when they have their emergency lights activated on their patrol cars.
