Borough Ordinance requires
all vehicles
that are parked at either of the train station lots,
the DPW/commuter bus
parking lot, or Eldorado
Village,
Knollcroft Gardens, Bergen Properties, Fair Lawn Park
Estates, or Hollow Run parking areas display a valid permit for the specific parking
area. (For the DPW/commuter bus parking lot
only, daily
parking meters can be used, which do not
require a permit)
The parking lots/areas
are checked every weekday
(excluding holidays) and violators are ticketed.
All permits expire on December 31 and must be renewed annually.
The current permit fee schedule, including the quarterly pro-rated fees,
are listed below. The purchase of a parking permit does not
guarantee an available parking space. Spaces are on a first
come, first served basis. People wishing to renew
a permit can do it in two ways. The application form could be
printed from your home computer, completed at your convenience, and mailed
with a self addressed-stamped envelope with
a check for the appropriate fee
(made out to The Borough of Fair Lawn) to the Fair Lawn Police Department
Records Bureau (8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410). Your parking
permit would then be issued and mailed to you.
If you need a parking permit and it is
the first time you are purchasing one, you will need to apply in person
with your driver's license, vehicle registration, and up-to-date
identification that shows your correct address.
(For apartment parking areas, please bring a copy of your lease.)
If you must apply in person, the form could be
printed out on a home computer and completed before you get to the
municipal building. In person permit sales are
conducted Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding holidays)
at the Fair Lawn Police Department's Records Bureau.
