This elite unit has been in service since 1973. These dedicated officers represent the pride, respect and "esprit de corps" of the department. Their military precision, knowledge, and appearance have earned them quite a reputation. These officers appear in full-dress, ceremonial uniform and proudly display flags, rifles, and their commander - a sword. They appear at funerals, parade, D.A.R.E. graduations, END DWI Memorials, award ceremonies, and with the governor at the New Jersey Law Enforcement Memorial Service. They have participated with the Special Olympics and have appeared in the Special Olympics poster. They are often called upon to assist other departments with funeral protocol.
Unit members are: Lt. Robert Kneer - Commander, Sgt. Derek Bastinck, Det. David Boone, P.O. Steve Cannizzaro, P.O. Louis Failla, and P.O. Lonnie Mergler.
